Research Abstract

場の量子論の大規模数値計算の新しい計算手法の研究開発を行った。まず、真空角度が入った量子色力学(QCD)配位生成の新しい手法を開発し、実際にトポロジー電荷が零からずれた真空の生成に成功した。また、周期的境界条件を課した時空上で、端に非物理的な逆電場の出ない一様で十分弱い電場をシミュレーションする方法を研究し、その二つの手法を元にStrong CP問題を解明するべく、核子の電気双極子モーメントの計算を行った。この他、場の理論の計算手法の開発としてクォーク・反クォークの生成消滅が2回以上起きている量子振幅(非結合ループ)が係わる計算として、eta'中間子の質量計算を行った。通常行われている、2つのクォークループ間の相関関数を測る方法の他に、QCD配位生成段階でループの片方をモンテカルロの生成確率に押し込めてしまう新たな計算手法を試し、両者で互いに無矛盾な結果を出すことを確かめ、eta'中間子をはじめその他の中間子の質量を求めた。これらの基本となる動的アップ、ダウン、ストレンジクォークの効果を入れたドメインオールQCD のシミュレーションを行い、素粒子標準モデルのパラメータを精度よく決定した。
