Research Abstract

本研究では、超流動ヘリウム中という特異な環境下を利用した光ポンピング法による新しい偏極生成技術を開発し、既存の手法では困難であった非アルカリ金属Ag原子、Au原子に対してそれぞれ80%以上、65%以上という高い偏極度の生成に成功した。さらに、100%の完全偏極に到達しない原因は照射レーザーの円偏光が不完全なためであることも突き止めた。本研究により、原子核構造をはじめ現代物理学研究に不可欠な原子スピン偏極の生成を広範な元素に対して可能とする基礎が築かれたと言えよう。
