Research Abstract

生体内ではDNAや蛋白質など溶液中で帯電した高分子鎖(荷電高分子鎖)が,一分子レベルでダイナミックに変形し反応が制御されている.本研究では,荷電高分子鎖の変形時に生じる摩擦の効果を定量的に明らかにすることを目的とし,光ピンセットによる一分子計測の方法を用いて,多価陽イオン存在下で凝縮した一分子DNAの内部摩擦の定量化を行った.理論モデルに基づく考察から,凝縮DNA伸長時に生じる内部摩擦が,凝縮相-非凝縮相間の2状態遷移過程で生じていることを明らかにした.
