Research Abstract

2003 年から2006 年に渡ってフィリピンルソン島における地質調査により、相次いで非常に保存の良い中期鮮新世の化石サンゴ(3.5-3.8M)の大型群体を発見した。シンクロトロンXRD分析、電子顕微鏡観察から続成作用の受けていない2 つの大型サンゴ群体試料を選定し、それらの年輪に沿った高解像度の酸素同位体比解析から中期鮮新世温暖期におけるエルニーニョ現象の変動の復元することに成功した。
