Research Abstract

分子クーロン爆発による分子軌道イメージング法の開発と確立を行った。光源開発として,時間幅35フェムト秒のレーザーパルスから自己フィラメンテーションまたは中空ファイバーによるスペクトルの広域化を行い,時間幅サブ7フェムト秒をもつ高強度超短パルスの発生に成功した。この超短パルスをプローブ光源として用い,一酸化窒素分子の解離性イオン化で生じたN+の運動量画像を調べたところ,電子基底状態Xの分子軌道を反映した,レーザー偏光方向に45度にピークをもつ運動量分布が得られた。また,電子励起状態Aからの解離性イオン化では円環状のN+の運動量画像が得られ,電子励起状態の分子軌道イメージングに初めて成功した。
