Research Abstract

本研究者は,近年,フェノール類の水酸基に機能分子を導入したデザイン型フェノールを用いてノボラックの合成を行うと,従来困難であったポリマーの主鎖構造,結合様式,分子量や高次構造の制御が可能なことを提唱している。中でも,デザイン型フェノールは,反応場の効果によりユニークな重合挙動を示す。たとえば高い対称性を持つ3官能性の1, 3, 5-トリメトキシベンゼンとホルムアルデヒドとを塩酸触媒により重合すると,溶媒を変化させるだけで直鎖状立体規則性高分子,多分岐高分子,内部環状構造を持つハニカム型ナノ微粒子をそれぞれ選択的に合成できることを発見した。このほか、マイクロ波を利用したフェノール樹脂の高速合成やナノロッドの合成にも成功している。
