Research Abstract

DNAやRNA中に部位特異的に酵素反応により相補的に導入可能な人工塩基対(Ds-Pa)を利用し、Pa内のアルデヒド基を利用したDNAやRNAの複製・転写後修飾の可能性とアルデヒド基の向きが及ぼす核酸合成酵素の認識能を調べた結果、ヌクレオシドPa内のアルデヒド基は、その化学的反応性は低いが、そのコンフォメーションが酵素認識に影響することがわかり、さらなる機能性人工塩基開発に関する重要な知見を得ることができた。
