| Research Abstract |
粘土鉱物系の2種類のナノシート液晶系を新たに見いだし、これらをポリN-イソプロピルアクリルアミドと複合化したゲルを合成した。得られたゲルには、マクロ配向した巨大メソゲンの無機ナノシート液晶が埋め込まれているため、屈折率異方性や異方的な熱誘起体積相転移などの興味深い物性が発現した。低分子液晶を用いて得られる従来の液晶ゲルとは原理的に大きく異なった新しいタイプの液晶ゲルが得られた。
