Research Abstract

本研究課題では、単一分子の発光現象の観測・制御を目標として研究を行った。走査トンネル顕微鏡を用いて単一分子を観測しながら、単一分子からの非常に微弱な発光を検出可能にするために、プラズモン増強効果による発光増幅効果を応用し、単一分子からの発光現象の観測に成功した。また、この結果を応用し、将来のディスプレイ・照明デバイスとして期待される有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子の発光効率の向上に成功した。
