Research Abstract

気体・液体が混ざった流れが固体に接している状況は,さまざまな工業装置内で見られるが,固体壁と液滴や気泡の接触する時,固体面の「濡れ性」は,それにより伝熱特性が劇的に変化するなど,さまざまな装置の性能を左右する非常に重要な問題である.本研究は,このような3つの相が含まれる流れをコンピュータによって解析する手法を開発し,複雑な流体の物理現象を解明しようとするものである.濡れが進む場合と乾きが進む場合で,接触部分の液体の角度が異なることは,一般に知られることであるが,コンピュータシミュレーションで,これまでにそれを自然に表現できるモデルはなかった.本研究では,実験式などを用いずに,界面の力学的バランスを丁寧に表現することで,その傾向が表せるようになった.
