Research Abstract

三元合金MnCoGeの格子体積が600Kで生じる相変態により著しく変化することに注目し、これを利用した全く新しいタイプの超磁歪材料の可能性を探索した.本研究により我々は、MnCoGeの化学量論的組成からわずかにCoを減じることにより相変態を生じる温度が急激に減少し、その一方でキュリー温度は殆ど変化しないことを明らかにした.特にCoを8%程度減じた試料では、マルテンサイト変態温度がキュリー温度を下回っており、相変態を磁場により誘起するための条件を満たしている.すなわち、MnCoGeは磁場誘起結晶構造相転移を利用した、新しいタイプの超磁歪材料として極めて有望であることが明らかにされた.
