Research Abstract

本研究において魚類ゲノム中に6コピー存在すると考えられているV1R型嗅覚受容体遺伝子を全て、シクリッドから単離した。さらにこれらをビクトリア湖産シクリッド種間で比較したところ、V1R2遺伝子において顕著に配列の異なるアリルの多型を発見し、さらなる解析を進めた。その結果、このアリル多型は850万年以上前から維持されてきたものであることが判明した。配列の大きく異なる2 種類のアリル型を集団中に維持することで潜在的な遺伝子数を増やすような自然選択「超優性」が働いていた可能性を強く示唆するものである。
