Research Abstract

高度好熱菌tRNA を耐熱化する働きをもつ硫黄化修飾の生合成機構の解析を行った。新規生合成因子を同定し、組換えタンパク質を用いて試験管内で反応機構を解析した。その結果この硫黄化修飾の生合成は新規中間体(チオカルボキシレート)を経由する新しいタイプのtRNA 硫黄化反応系であることが判明した。この系はモリブデン補酵素やチアミンなどの硫黄を含む補酵素の生合成系と共通の祖先から進化したと考えられる。
