Research Abstract

細菌の培養をする際には一般的に酸素濃度を調整するが、CO_2濃度に着目した研究はこれまであまりなされていない。近年、CO_2を要求する細菌の存在が知られ始め、本研究でも環境中からCO_2要求性細菌の単離に成功した。大腸菌の炭酸脱水酵素欠損株がCO_2要求性を示すことから、おろらく高濃度CO_2存在環境から単離されたCO_2要求性細菌も炭酸脱水酵素を持たないがために低濃度CO_2環境では増殖できないことが予想される。
