Research Abstract |
微好気性細菌Magnetospirillum sp. TS-6株を異なる酸素濃度条件下で培養し、安息香酸の好気/嫌気代謝の鍵となる3つの酵素の発現を調べた。その結果、1)好気条件と嫌気条件の両方の代謝経路で機能する安息香酸CoAリガーゼ(Bcl)の遺伝子は各条件下でほぼ一定の転写量を示した 2)好気代謝を担うベンゾイルCoAオキシゲナーゼ(Box)の遺伝子は酸素濃度0%とそれ以外でゼロ/サムになるように転写されていた 3)嫌気代謝を担うベンゾイルCoAレダクターゼ(Bcr)の遺伝子は、酸素濃度が減少するにつれて転写量が連続的に増加した。これにより、微好気環境に生息する環境微生物の特徴的な環境応答の一端を明らかにした。
