Research Abstract

細胞に無限増殖能を与える酵素"テロメラーゼ"は、その酵素活性の阻害による癌治療への応用が近年世界的に注目を集めている。既に我々は、長鎖不飽和脂肪酸とトコトリエノールのテロメラーゼ阻害作用を見出している。2007 年度は阻害の分子機構を解析し、長鎖不飽和脂肪酸は核内受容体PPARγを介して、トコトリエノールはTGF-βシグナルを介してテロメラーゼ活性を抑制することを明らかにした。2008 年度は担癌マウスを用いた動物試験により長鎖不飽和脂肪酸とトコトリエノールの有効性を評価し、テロメラーゼ阻害により腫瘍を退縮させることを確認した。
