Research Abstract

脊椎動物体幹部の感覚を司る脊髄神経節の発生プログラムにおいて、複数の局面でSix遺伝子が重要な役割を担っていることを明らかにした。特に、感覚神経細胞の発生過程において、Six遺伝子を発現できるようになったことが感覚神経の進化・多様化の鍵になっている可能性を示すことが出来た。また、感覚神経細胞の分化機構と脊髄神経節の節という形態の形成・維持機構が互いに密接に関与しあい不可分である可能性も示すことが出来た。
