Research Abstract

上皮細胞の細胞間接着装置は、隣り合う細胞膜の最も頂端側に位置するタイトジャンクション(TJ)と、それの基底側に位置するアドヘレンスジャンクション(AJ)から主に構成されている。TJの細胞膜裏打ちタンパク質であるZO-1/2/3のTJおよびAJにおける役割を、マウスと細胞を使って、調べた。その結果、ZO-1は、胚発生の初期段階で組織形成に、またAJ の形成にも重要な働きをしていることが明らかとなった。
