組織検体においてゲノム網羅的DNA メチル解析を施行し,ゲノム規模のDNAメチル化異常が, 腎・肝における多段階発がん過程に前がん段階から寄与することを示した.前がん状態におけるDNA メチル化プロファイルはがんに継承され, がんの悪性度や症例の予後を規定する可能性がある。慢性肝炎・肝硬変症で経過観察中の患者において, 肝細胞がん発生リスク評価指標となるDNA メチル化プロファイルを同定した. 発がんリスク評価の実用化のため, 速やかに前向き試験に着手したい
