Research Abstract

腫瘍細胞中の幹細胞マーカー発現細胞群(癌性幹細胞)は、免疫不全マウスへの移植において腫瘍形成能力が高い。そこで、CD133分子を内因性に発現するヒト大腸がん細胞株を用いて、幹細胞マーカーとして注目されるCD133分子の腫瘍形成における機能を検討した。その結果、CD133分子が、細胞増殖の亢進ならびに発がんに関連の深いβ-カテニン分子の調節に関与し、腫瘍形成に直接的に機能することを明らかにした。
