Research Abstract

リソソームへの膜融合はRab7というGTPaseによって担われる。多くのモデル生物や寄生性原虫ではRab7はゲノムに1種しかコードされないが、赤痢アメーバには9種のアイソタイプが存在し、リソソーム周辺で異なる機能を担っていることを明らかにした。赤痢アメーバがリソソームに病原因子を蓄積し病原性を発揮するには、複雑なリソソーム輸送と多様な機能を担うRab7が必要なのではないかと考えられる。
