Research Abstract

動脈硬化症、心筋梗塞など難治性心血管疾患において、オステオポンチンをはじめとする細胞外マトリックスタンパクとその受容体であるインテグリンが果たす役割を、中和抗体や遺伝子改変マウスを用いて検討し、最終的には疾患の新たな治療法開発につなげることを目標とし、研究をすすめている。現在、様々な疾患モデルを作成し、中和抗体や遺伝子改変マウスを用いて、その治療効果を確認中である。以上の研究を通じて、個々の分子の役割のみならず、分子間相互作用や相乗効果、ひいては組織再構築の分子機構の全容に近づきたいと考えている。
