Research Abstract

転写因子SIP1はヒトにおける遺伝子欠損で先天性心疾患を起こすことが報告されている。このSIP1の発現欠損をマウスの心臓・動脈系に起こすと大動脈弁・肺動脈弁の形成異常が起こり大動脈弁狭窄の状態となることを発見した。この形成異常は心臓の形成段階で起こる弁間質細胞のアポトーシスの異常とコラーゲン産生異常によると考えられる結果を得た。弁の形成異常を来すモデル動物は少なく、先天性心疾患・弁膜症の発症機序解明の糸口を得たと考えている。
