Research Abstract

成人末梢血中に血管内皮前駆細胞が存在し、新たな血管の形成(血管新生)に寄与することが知られている。赤血球増殖に関与するサイトカインであるエリスロポエチンの末梢血中への血管内皮前駆細胞増加(動員)作用に注目し、新たな血管新生治療への応用を検討した。自己貯血にエリスロポエチン投与を併用することにより、白血球増加や貧血の出現無しに末梢血中に血管内皮前駆細胞が動員された。またエリスロポエチンを併用した末梢血単核球細胞移植を行ったところ、末梢動脈閉塞症による重症虚血肢症状が改善した。エリスロポエチンを併用することにより細胞治療の血管新生作用を増強する可能性がある。
