Research Abstract

本研究では、加齢に伴う腎障害、特に糸球体硬化症の分子機構を解明するために、老化で蓄積する終末糖化産物および、終末糖化産物により腎臓のメサンギウム細胞より分泌される新規増殖因子Gas6(Growth arrest specific 6)に注目し、Gas6を発現できなくしたマウスでは加齢性腎障害が緩和されることを証明した。また、我々が同定した糸球体硬化制御因子Smad1が糸球体硬化症の尿中新規バイオマーカーになりえることも明らかにした。
