Research Abstract |
人工腎臓(透析)治療中の末期腎不全患者は国内で27万人を突破し、その右肩上がりの増加にもかかわらず腎臓病の根本的治療法は存在しない。これは腎臓病特異的な傷害機序が十分に解明されていないことに起因するが、特に腎臓の血液濾過装置を構成する糸球体足細胞(podocyte)の傷害は新しい腎臓特異的な治療標的として注目されている。そこで足細胞に焦点を絞り「足細胞傷害因子」および「足細胞保護因子」の探索を行い、候補因子の同定に成功した。
