Research Abstract

糖尿病腎症の進展阻止が期待される蛋白質として色素上皮由来因子(Pigmentepithelium-derived factor:以下PEDF)に着目した。PEDFの抗酸化ストレス活性が腎症の初期病変を改善するのか検討するために、テトラサイクリン投与によりヒトPEDFの発現が誘導されるマウスを作製して、ストレプトゾトシン投与による糖尿病モデルを用いて糖尿病網膜症の抑制効果を確認することが可能になった。
