Research Abstract

本研究は毛周期を維持する血管リモデリング現象について、この詳細なメカニズムを解明することが目的として遂行された。LIF欠損マウスの血管構築を解析したところ、全身で密な血管網が構築されていた。これは本来血管が出来上がった場所において、VEGF発現がLIF欠損マウスでは著名に亢進していることに起因していた(Kubota et al. J . Clin. Invest. 2008)。また、毛包組織にも多数存在する組織マクロファージが、細胞外マトリックスのリモデリングを介した血管リモデリングに寄与することも解明した(Kubota et al. J. Exp. Med. 2009)。
