Research Abstract

我々はエナメル質の再生およびう蝕などの宿主感受性(リスク)の原因や診断法の開発を目標として、エナメル質形成に関わる分子の包括的な解析を行ってきた。歯の発生過程に関わる新規の分子を検索し、歯に異常をきたす眼歯指異形成症の原因遺伝子であるGja1分子に着目した。この細胞間結合蛋白であるGja1分子について解析を行った結果、ギャップ結合分子の存在やその制御が、歯の発生に極めて重要かつ必須の分子であることが明らかとなった。
