Research Abstract

歯周炎は感染や炎症により、骨を含めた歯周組織破壊の起こる疾患である。歯周炎組織中には数多くの免疫系細胞が存在しており、これら免疫系細胞が歯槽骨吸収に関与していると考えられる。本研究では歯周炎組織中のT細胞の骨吸収に関わる分子の産生を検索した。結果歯周炎組織中には歯骨細胞分化を促進させるRANKL^+T細胞とTh17細胞が存在し、これらの細胞が歯周炎組織における骨破壊に関与している可能性を示した。
