Research Abstract

最新のデジタル視覚効果を多用した現代の映画作品が、「見せること」(スペクタクル性)と「物語ること」(ストーリー性)との微妙なバランスの上で成立している点は、 映画誕生以前の視覚装置・見世物、つまりパノラマやジオラマなどと共通していることが判明した。また技術的に「新しい」イメージを用いたフィルムには、見る者にアプローチする方法は、ストーリーテリングの機能が未発達な初期映画との共通点が少なからず認められる。
