Research Abstract

ガン亜科とキジ科の遺跡出土試料を対象に、組織切片を用いた骨髄骨の観察、骨の発達段階や形態の観察・測定、古代DNA分析をおこない、野生集団と家畜化の各段階にある集団との識別方法を確立した。特に骨髄骨の分析では、日本ではじめてガン亜科家禽を同定した。今後、本研究で得られた知見に基づいてガン亜科やキジ科の遺跡出土試料を分析することで、日本における家禽の歴史をより鮮明に描けるようになると期待される。
