Research Abstract

物質の新機能・新物性を探索する手段として圧力・磁場・温度をコントロールパラメーターとした多重極限環境下での物性測定が注目を集めている。最近、圧力を印加することによって磁気秩序が絶対零度において消失する、いわゆる量子臨界点近傍においてエキゾチックな超伝導を示すことが数多く報告されている。しかし、複合極限環境下での物性測定の困難さのため、その本質は解明されていない。本研究では、高圧下においても熱力学的物理量の詳細な温度依存性が観測可能となる装置の開発を行い、イッテルビウム系化合物における磁気量子臨界現象に関わる電子状態の解明をめざした研究を行った。
