| Research Abstract |
最近の新たな絶対古地磁気強度測定法によると, 現在の地磁気ダイナモは大変活発な状態にあり, 平均的な状態からはかけ離れているらしい. この仮説を詳細に検討するためには, 北半球地域から系統的なデータを得ることが必要であり, 本研究ではこの新方法をアイスランド溶岩に適用するための予察研究に取り組んだ. 約100枚の溶岩からの予察的な測定結果によると, 過去約500 万年間の地磁気強度の平均は現在の約60%であり, 仮説を支持する.
