Research Abstract

堆積物や生物殻体(貝殻や骨)に含まれるアミノ酸・クロロフィルの安定窒素同位体比(15_N/14_N)は,過去の地球環境の窒素サイクルを知り得る唯一のツールとして期待されている。
本研究では,海洋堆積岩(数千万年前)・海洋堆積物(数百万年前~現在)・生物化石(数万年~現在)・ホルマリン固定生物(数十年前~現在)・貝殻(数年前~現在)などの様々な試料に対し本解析法を適用し,本手法が様々なケースに広く利用可能であることを証明した。
