Research Abstract

地震は断層の破壊が面的に広がることで地震波を放射する現象である。断層の破壊現象を応力場などに基づいて物理的に取り扱うために、従来さまざまな手法が提案されてきた。本研究では、境界積分方程式法(BIEM)と有限要素法(FEM)の欠点を補い合う新しい手法を提案して、断層破壊を精度良く、かつ自由な媒質に対して適用可能な手法を開発した。
