Research Abstract

オオヒラタシデムシの繁殖行動を観察した結果、マウント後雄が触角を強く噛んで引きで、交尾相手を拘束することが確認された。雄は射精後も雌を数時間拘束し、その時間は周辺に競争相手がいると長くなった。雌は生殖器を曲げて挿入を拒否し、拘束時間を短縮していた。小さな雄ほどマウント回数が多く、大きな雌ほど挿入を拒否する割合が高かった。野外調査では、飛翔筋の保有率が数%の地域と、約9 割の地域があることを発見した。
