Research Abstract

2008年3月号のCell Metabolism誌において、蛋白の翻訳抑制を担うEukaryotic initiation factor 4E-binding protein 1(4E-BP1)が、小胞体ストレスによる膵β細胞の細胞死から細胞を保護することを報告した。また、ある蛋白が小胞体ストレスによって誘導されることを発見した。さらなる解析により、この蛋白が分泌蛋白であり、血液中に存在していることをあきらかにした。この蛋白は、小胞体ストレスのマーカーとなる可能性があり、解析を行っている。
