Research Abstract

歯を支える周りの組織(歯周組織)は外部からの刺激に対して適応する能力に優れ、高い再生能力を有する。本研究においては、硬組織の新鮮切片を用いた蛍光抗体による多重染色を行い、歯周組織において「上皮系細胞」と「血管内皮細胞」が特殊な鞘状の構造を形成し、その周囲に未熟な細胞の集団が存在することを同定した。この未熟な細胞の集団は組織の恒常性の維持と再生能に関与していることが示唆される。
