Research Abstract

マクロファージや樹状細胞(DC)といった貪食細胞は、生体内に侵入した細菌などの病原体を貪食することによって感染防御の砦として機能しているだけでなく、生体内でアポトーシスに陥った死細胞を貪食することによって末梢のトレランス維持に関与していると考えられている。マクロファージの貪食機構についてはこれまでに詳細に解析されているものの、DCのそれについてはあまり分かってない。今回、我々はマウスCD8+DCの死細胞貪食機構にT cell immunoglobulin mucin-3(Tim-3)が関与することを見出した。
