Research Abstract

結核菌は宿主細胞に侵入することが感染のきっかけとなるため、細胞侵入に関与すると報告されているMceタンパク質について宿主細胞に対する作用機構の解明を目指し研究に着手した。このうちMce3Bタンパク質について、直接的に細胞侵入には関与しないものの、宿主細胞に働きかけ自然免疫を惹起することを示唆する結果を得た。これにより結核菌が宿主の炎症反応を引き起こし感染に利用している可能性が考えられる。
