Research Abstract |
The purpose of this project is establishment of new method to interdisciplinary research on Japanese medieval Castle and Town site. We had some research programs in this year about (1) interdisciplinary conference, (2) computer graphics, (3) international research, (4) research presentation. (1) We organized interdisciplinary conference about medieval capital Town Kamakura on October 6-7. The first session, medieval archaeologists and medieval architectural historians presented the same Samurai warrior's houses, merchant houses, medieval temples, from each viewpoint. The next session, we have discussed with not only archaeologists and medieval architectural historians but, medieval historians, historical geographers. We have restored landscape of medieval capital city Kamakura. (2) We made a computer graphics animation about medieval capital city of Kamakura. This graphics built on the conclusion of the Kamakura interdisciplinary conference. The graphics of Kamakura was recorded onto DVD. (3) We had an archaeological comparative survey at Chingortoi, Mongolia Castle Town site on August 3-14. We made a 3 dimension map of the site by GPS and laser measuring system. This survey was cooperation project with Institute of Archaeology, Mongolia scientific academy. (4) We presented the results in congress. For example, Gunki to Katarimono congress at Nara, Medieval Asian congress at Hokkaido, Medieval material congress at Tokyo.
