Outline of Research at the Start

複合医療施設や大型商業施設は、地震時に地域医療や地域生活の拠点としての震災時の継続利用が期待されるが、非構造部材の落下や重要機器の損傷などにより、建物の利用停止が相次いでいる。日本と中国における過去の地震被害例の収集や振動実験及び数値解析を通して、非構造部材と重要機器を含めた建物の脆弱性評価や,急性期の利用予定と復旧の迅速化を考慮した費用対効果の高い耐震対策の提案,に取り組む。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

A collaborative research studied the seismic performance evaluation of suspended ceiling systems.The review on the Japanese, Chinese and the north American ceiling style showed a large difference in panel attachent and the stiffness of suspension members.
A full-scale testing and numerical simulations of a Japanese style system presented the high seismic resistance of the system,where falling hazard is limited for a room-size ceiling. A damage pattern,threshold and margin to failure were exmined carefully with emphasis on functionality loss and repair cost. The interactions between the main ceiling grid and suspended electric equipment,and the surrounding wall increased damage.This finding leads to the development of an analytical model and the design procedure with enhanced resiliency.
These finding are published in a three SCI papers in the prestigious international journal and one article in an international conference.The results and proposed model are well-received in the relevant community and the papers are getting a good number of citations.
