Outline of Research at the Start

なぜサブサハラアフリカにおけるリプロダクティブヘルスケア・母子健康管理の利用が進まないのか、利用を促進するために効果的な政策介入は何か。斬新なフィールド実験（ランダム化比較試験(RCT)）を、性生活・避妊・家族計画、産前、出産、産後・育児の各ステージで行うことで、女性の健康管理行動を深く理解し、効果的介入を導く。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、発展途上国の貧困女性の健康管理行動を深く理解し、母子健康管理の利用を促進するために、フィールド実験を行う予定であった。初年度の終わりにCOVID-19が発生し、フィールド実験が実施不可能になるとともに、パンデミック禍での途上国貧困層の脆弱性が顕著となった。この予期せぬ世の中の大きな変化に対応して、COVID-19により貧困層の健康・生計・生活がどのように影響を受けたかを検証すべく、研究デザイン・構成・計画を変更した。途上国で大規模家計調査を行い、詳細な実態把握を行った。障害者は特に脆弱で、COVID-19による問題の深刻化が懸念されるが、アフリカにおいては障害者データそのものが不十分なため、障害者データを新たに構築した。これらのデータを様々な既存データと統合して、重要な学術・政策課題についてテーマ研究を多角的に行った。当該年度は、次を実施した。
1.カンボジア・テーマ研究：カンボジア計画省統計局が実施する政府統計「カンボジア社会経済調査2021」の一環として実施したCOVID-19・健康・選好に関する独自の第1回全国家計調査データをもとに、テーマ研究「COVID-19と障害」、「紛争と信頼」を行った。
2.第2回カンボジア全国家計調査：COVID-19・健康・選好に関する独自の第2回全国家計調査を、第1回家計調査同様、カンボジア計画省統計局と協力して、同局が実施する政府統計「カンボジア社会経済調査2023」の一環として実施した。
3.アフリカ・テーマ研究：構築したアフリカ諸国の障害者データをもとに、テーマ研究「国別障害者数の推定」、「障害と多次元貧困」、「紛争と障害」、「障害にかかわる差別と文化」を行った。大学院生主体で、後者2研究から派生するテーマ研究「紛争と信頼」、「自然災害と信頼」を行った。
