Outline of Research at the Start

高速道路施設の維持管理の高度化を目的として,以下の3項目を実施する.
1. 供用状況下の施設の故障過程を明らかにする.
2. 施設の故障による利用者の社会便益の変化をて定量化する.
3. 社会便益,ライフサイクル費用,事故リスクを考慮した社会的総余剰を最大化するように維持管理施策を最適化する.
道路施設の維持管理については,故障過程が定量化された事例は過去にはほとんどない上,施設故障が利用者側の社会便益に与える影響評価も行われていない.本研究は,施設管理に従事する研究協力者と連携しながら,データの科学的分析に基づいて故障過程と社会便益を明らかにし,社会的総余剰の最大化による維持管理の最適化を行う.

Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study proposes following scientific approaches for the better road facility maintenance. (1) Failure Process: A method that estimates the survival probability considering censored data is proposed. Using real maintenance data, survival probabilities of several facilities are estimated. (2) Social Loss: Using observed failure data and traffic demand data, the user loss as well as the maintenance cost due to a facility failure are estimated. Evaluation of user loss due to a failure is a unique original outcomes of this study. (3) Optimum Maintenance Strategy: By formulating the optimization problem so as to maximize the social benefit, better maintenance strategies such as appropriate inspection intervals, repair frequency and stock management of repair materials are proposed.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究は,道路施設の維持管理の高度化を目的としてしている.インフラの老朽化が進む近年では,道路施設を含めたインフラの維持管理に対する社会的要請はきわめて大きい.しかし,道路施設の維持管理については,故障過程が定量化された事例は過去にはほとんどない上,施設故障が利用者側の社会損失に与える影響評価も行われていない.本研究は,施設管理に従事する研究協力者と連携しながら,データの科学的分析に基づいて故障過程と社会損失を明らかにするものであり,社会的総余剰の最大化による維持管理の最適化は,従来とは一線を画す優れたインフラマネジメントのための新たなフレームワークを提示するものである.
