Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、プラスチックなど従来の高分子材料の合成において、全く新しい合成反応の概念を提唱し、従来の手法では作り出すことができなかった高分子を作る方法の開発を目的としている。とくに、従来の高分子を作る様々な化学反応を組みわせられるような画期的な化学反応論を構築することで、自在に高分子を設計できる革新的高分子精密合成を可能とするとともに、得られる従来未開拓の高分子材料についてその性質を明らかにする。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、従来重合反応における副反応の抑制に用いられてきた生長末端の安定なドーマント種を、複数の刺激を用いて解離し複数のマルチアクティブ種へ可逆変換するとともに、クリック反応など他の反応系と組み合わせることで、異種反応を経由して高分子を形成する新規な高分子構造制御法を開発・確立することを目的とした。具体的には、生長末端に従来のリビング重合のドーマント種を異なる複数の刺激で可逆的に活性化もしくはアジド基などへ化学変換することで、同一のドーマント種から炭素カチオンやアニオン、ラジカル、金属配位といった異種の重合もしくはクリック反応へと系内で可逆的に変換させる全く新しい重合概念の確立を目指している。とくに、マルチアクティブ種や異種反応での可逆的成長を制御することで、自在に高分子を設計できる革新的高分子精密合成を可能とするとともに、得られる従来未開拓の高分子材料についてその性質を明らかにするために検討を行った。
当該年度は、リビングクリック重合における更なる適用範囲の拡大に注力して研究を行った。とくに、リビングクリック重合において、開始剤としてアルキン型ものもを使用することが可能であることを見出し、アルキン方向、アジド方向いずれもリビング重合できることが明らかになった。また、クリックリビング重合による剛直鎖の合成も可能であることを明らかにした。また、これらの一部の研究成果に対して海外での招待講演を含めて外部発表を行った。
