| Outline of Research at the Start |
本研究では、田中一松（1895～1983）および土居次義（1906～1991）の研究資料のデジタル化による保存活用を実施しながら、日本美術の記録のあり方と評価プロセスを明らかにすることを目的とする。田中、土居、さらに相見香雨（1874～1970）の調査記録などとも連携を図りながら、この百年間にどのように日本美術は記録され、語られてきたのか解明する。本研究で主に扱う3者は、自らの足と、手と、眼の力を駆使して勢力的なアナログ調査活動を展開し、目を見張るような質・量の調査を実施し研究基盤を形成した。本研究はこうしたアナログ研究資料をデジタルの特質を活かして保存活用し、未来にも活かすことを目指す。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this study was to clarify the ideal way of recording Japanese art and the evaluation process while carrying out the preservation and digital utilization of the research materials of Tanaka Ichimatsu and Doi Tsugiyoshi. By comparing the research notes of Tanaka and Doi with their research methods, we clarified how Japanese art has been recorded and talked about in the last 100 years. By digitization work and comparing and examining the various materials, we were able to grasp the actual situation of administrative work for cultural properties and Japanese painting research by Tanaka and Doi for more than half a century. Not only it was possible to collect useful information in individual research of artworks, but it also clarified how artworks were evaluated and positioned, and how Japanese art history was talked about.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
一般的には論文や書籍などの形になったものを研究者の業績としてみなすが、本研究で扱う田中一松と土居次義は、自らの足と、手と、眼の力を駆使して勢力的なアナログ調査活動を展開し、目を見張るような質・量の調査を実施し研究基盤を形成した。両者の調査ノートはそのことを雄弁に物語る研究資料である。本研究ではアナログ資料をデジタルの特質を活かして保存活用し、未来にも活かすことを目指した。主要な調査ノートや重要な資料は、全ページをデジタル化し、ウェブ上で公開した。田中と土居の研究は主に江戸時代以前の美術作品をその対象としているが、その記録は近代資料でもある。今後、他の研究領域にも活用されることが期待される。
