Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、情報通信技術(ICT)進展によるデジタルコンテンツ流通や端末機器のコモデイテイ化等が促進する産業構造の変化および事業者間協働形態の変化を捉えうるレイヤー戦略論の展開を目的にするものである。このレイヤー（構造）とは、階層構造を持つ製品・サービスあるいは産業構造を差す概念である。レイヤー戦略論はプラットフォーム戦略やエコシステム論からの最新知見を基にして、バリューシステム（事業者間をまたがる価値連鎖）と利用者側から見た製品・サービス全体構造の双方からの鳥敵と分析を可能とする理論として発展させることを目指している。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

当初の研究計画は、以下のようなものであった。
「本研究はデジタル化による産業構造変化について、定性的理解と定量的把握を行い、破壊的イノベーション論とプラットフォーム論を統合したデジタル戦略論の構築に向けた展開を図る。ここでのデジタル化は製品およびプロセスの「モジュール化、ソフトウェア化、ネットワーク化」を意味し、産業構造変化はデジタル化の発展による新市場創造と、それによる既存市場代替の進行を意味する。主にハードウェアを対象事例に事業戦略の視座から論じられてきた破壊的イノベーション論と、ソフトウェア産業とネットビジネスを対象にして論じられてきたプラットフォーム論の再構築を行い、両理論の拡張とその統合化を図る。同時に産業レベル、社会レベル、企業レベルにおける最新事例調査と定量分析を通じて理論の妥当性を確認する。」
上記のように、当初計画では、デジタル化を「モジュール化、ソフトウェア化、ネットワーク化」を中心にとらえてきたが、最近のAIの進展を受けて、我々の研究もAIの影響を考慮するようになってきている。2023年度は、AIを意識した論文等を多く発表した。それら論文は、当初設定のプラットフォーム論や破壊的イノベーション論への統合をはかるという意味では、さらに視点を発展させた研究となっていると言える。
具体的には、國領二郎が、AI時代のSocial Welfare確保のための「利他主義」の必要性を論じる論文投稿、および研究発表を行った。一方、木村誠は、システムダイナミックスを使った定量研究を進め、生成AIを研究手段として使った３つの研究発表を行った。研究代表者である根来龍之は、これらの研究発表を参照しながら、一般向けの研究発信を心がけ、企業の事例研究をふまえた著書（共著）を出版した。
