Outline of Research at the Start |

Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, we conducted a literature review on the prevention of sarcopenia and its genetic effects due to exercise, a cross-sectional study on the relationship between depression and physical activity in obese subjects with sarcopenia, and a study on sarcopenia and atherosclerosis-related indices in middle-aged and elderly women. Interaction with iron intake, exercise intervention for sarcopenic obesity was conducted. To summarize the relationships between sarcopenia-related genes and muscle mass and muscle function, they can be classified into (1) genes related to physical strength, (2) genes related to skeletal muscle metabolism, and (3) genes related to inflammation. Sarcopenic obesity showed depressive symptoms when the amount of daily activity was low. In addition, continuous aqua exercise can be expected to reduce body fat.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
