Outline of Research at the Start

物性物理学において、準粒子は重要な役割をなす。一電子描像では捉えがたい集団運動を、相互作用に起因する準粒子の描像によって美しく説明できる。本研究の対象である量子ホール系は、強磁場中の二次元電子に現れる二次元トポロジカル絶縁体であり、絶縁化されたバルクにおける特徴的励起状態を二次元準粒子である分数電荷やスカーミオンによって、カイラルエッジにおける一方向伝導など興味深い現象を一次元準粒子であるカイラルプラズモン・カイラルスピノンによって説明できる。本研究では、これらの特徴的な準粒子の非平衡状態を制御し、非平衡ダイナミクスを探求し、量子ホール熱機関やトポロジカル量子工学への応用指針を得る。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本課題「メゾスコピック量子ホール系の低次元準粒子制御と非平衡現象」では、強磁場中の半導体ヘテロ構造を用い、機能的量子素子の集積化であるメゾスコピック量子ホール系を形成し、一次元系準粒子(プラズモン・スピノン等)、二次元系準粒子(分数電荷・スカーミオン等)の非平衡現象を探求し、量子ホール熱機関やトポロジカル量子工学への応用指針を得ることを目標としている。具体的には、一次元系準粒子の非相反伝導を利用して、整数・分数量子ホール領域での朝永ラッティンジャー流体の伝導制御を行い、量子化熱伝導・量子ホール熱機関の実現を目指している。また、二次元系準粒子のブレーディングなどの制御技術の確立を念頭に、量子アンチドットによる少数準粒子の制御、超高速走査型偏光分光顕微鏡による準粒子ダイナミクス、準粒子のトンネル過程の解明を進めている。
令和4年度は、量子ホール系のエッジおよびバルクにおける多彩な輸送現象について研究を進めた。実験研究では、整数・分数量子ホール領域における電流と熱流を運ぶ固有モードの理解が進み、量子ポイント接合によって複数チャネルにおける熱分配制御に成功し、ホットエレクトロンが非熱的な朝永ラッティンジャー液体に変化する現象を見出し、レーザー走査による熱輸送イメージング技術を開発するとともに、三重量子アンチドットの量子状態制御の知見を得るなど、多くの成果に至っている。理論研究では、熱力学的状態変化における密度行列の非対角要素を解析し、ワッサースタイン計量を定義するなどの成果を得ている。さらに、世界最高制度の電流アンプを開発し、トポロジカル系を用いた共振器量子電気力学に向けた研究を開始するなど、当初の計画を超えた研究にも着手している。

1: Research has progressed more than it was originally planned.

Reason

計画どおりに研究は進展しており、新たな視点での研究にも着手している。本年度の進展は下記のとおりである。
[1]量子ホール系のプラズモン共振器と二重量子ドットの結合系を形成し、プラズモン支援トンネルの観測に成功した。トポロジカル系の共振器量子電気力学への発展が見込まれる。[2]複数の量子ホールエッジチャネルにおける熱分配を量子ポイント接合によって制御できることを示した。[3]量子ホールエッジのホットエレクトロンが、電子電子散乱を経て、非熱的朝永ラッティンジャー液体に変遷することを示した。[4]異なる量子ホール状態の接合に生じるエッジチャネルについて、電流と熱流を運ぶ固有モード形成のメカニズムを実験で確認した。さらに、このチャネルを利用した分数電荷準粒子の干渉デバイスを作製した。[5]自家製HEMTを用いた低温電流アンプを改良し、10 MHz帯の電流アンプとして世界最高の測定精度を達成した。このアンプを量子ドット電荷計に用いることで高精度・高速の時間領域電荷モニタリングに使用できることを示した。[6]エッジの熱輸送を可視化するため、レーザー励起による熱起電力を観測する熱輸送イメージング測定を行い、熱のカイラリティを確認し、磁場に対して熱減衰長が増大することを明らかにした。[7]量子ホール熱機関を含む熱力学的状態変化において、熱力学的不確定性関係を明らかにするため、密度行列の非対角要素がどのように熱力学的不確定性を壊すかを明らかにした。[8]量子離散準位系ダイナミクスがリンドブラッドマスター方程式で記述できる場合、量子的なワッサースタイン計量を定義できることを示した。[9]三重量子アンチドット系において、クーロン相互作用とトンネル結合によって現れる電荷安定図を解析し、2つの連続する電荷状態の有効ハミルトニアンが一致する特異な条件を見出した。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

以下の研究について推進する計画である。
[1]量子ホール系のエッジチャネルおける非相反伝導を利用した熱電機関の実験研究を進め、朝永ラッティンジャー液体の可積分性を活かした熱電機関の特性評価を行う。また、高エネルギーのホットエレクトロン注入により、朝永ラッティンジャー液体の特性が現れる上限エネルギーを実験的に求めるとともに、朝永ラッティンジャー液体によるエネルギーハーベスト技術の指針を得る。[2]異なる量子ホール状態の接合における電流と熱流を運ぶ独立な固有モード形成を確認した結果について、論文を発表する。また、準粒子の干渉デバイスについて、電荷キャリアをショットノイズ測定によって調べるとともに、アハラノフ・ボーム干渉効果の測定を行い、分数量子ホール準粒子の分数電荷および分数位相の同時評価に取り組む。[3]発光型(高S/N比、百ps分解能)および反射型(低S/N比、1ps分解能)の走査型ストロボスコープ顕微鏡によるエッジの温度分布のイメージ技術を用いて、分数量子ホール状態で存在が示唆されている上流へ逆流する中性モードの可視化を目指す。測定対象として二層量子ホール系を新たに導入し、上下のそれぞれのエッジの可視化、2層間の相関により速度の変調等の可視化を目指す。[4]ワッサースタイン計量を含む幾何学的な量を使って、準静的過程を超えた任意のスピードで動作する熱機関を幾何学的な量でクラス分けし、効率やパワーなどのトレードオフ関係式を明らかにする。また、量子エンタングルメントがどのように熱機関に影響するのかについても研究を進める。[5]分数量子ホール領域の量子アンチドット素子の輸送測定により、磁場やゲート電圧の依存性から有効電荷を評価するとともに、分数電荷準粒子の制御を目指す。
